DEAF/HARD-OF-HEARING EXPANSION INTO RACINE/KENOSHA
For over seven years, the RiCH Company has provided extensive Job Development Services to clients throughout the greater Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, and Waukesha areas. In response to inquiries about expanding our services, we are pleased to announce the availability of our services to the Racine and Kenosha areas.
The RiCH Company’s services are designed with one single goal—to help individuals with disabilities find and keep the job that is right for them. To do this, job development staff work closely with each client, helping clients explore job options, strengthen job-seeking skills, apply for jobs, improve interviewing skills, and secure employment.
The RiCH Company and RiCH Vocational Services also has a division completely focused on serving the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community—a fact that helps separate the Company from many of its competitors. Skilled Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialists provide job development services for all consumers who have hearing loss or who are profoundly Deaf, and who use Sign Language as their primary mode of communication. Having this service available is a large benefit to the consumers and to DVR Counselors alike, as consumers and their Job Development Specialist can have one-on-one meetings without the use of an interpreter. This saves money for DVR, and allows the consumer to relate to their job developer on a more individual level, allowing the consumer to experience job development as their hearing peers would.
RiCH Vocational Services Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing specialists are also available to interpret all job interviews, provide job coaching, relate to each consumer on an individual basis, and work closely with employers to prepare them for working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. Just as is true with working with anyone who has a disability, working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community requires a different approach that our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialists are proud to provide.
