Our Business Skills Program is very different than many competitors. As you consider a business skills course for yourself or for one of your clients, consider the RiCH Vocational Services' advantage:
- Small Group Instruction: All courses are limited to four students, customized for each student, and led by an in-classroom instructor and program assistant.
- Instructor-Led Classes: All courses are led by experienced business instructors who hold at least a Masters in English, Business Skills, or Communication. All instructors bring extensive classroom and real-world experience to the course.
- Custom Facilities: All courses are taught in RiCH Company computer labs in Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Fond du Lac.
Through the entire twenty week curriculum, students become proficient with using a Windows-based computer and are instructed in:
- Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Business Documents, Forms, and Writing
- Electronic Communication and the Internet
- Office Equipment
- Interpersonal Communication
- Keyboarding and Computer Usage
- Real-world, Office-related Situational Responses and Problem Solving
- Group Collaboration
- Specific Office Environments: Medical, Bookkeeping, Records, and Financial
Additionally, students in the Business Skills class create portfolios and work on office projects to simulate a new-job environment. Advanced Business Skills students gain the experience of either internship-type work with a volunteer organization or challenging projects in our office.
